Item is a newsletter published by St. Jerome's University for its graduates, faculty, staff and friends. This issue includes a message from the President (David Perrin) and from the University Advancement Officer, an in-depth reflection on his five years as President by David Perrin, and profiles on the Department of Mathematics and the Go Guatemala program; in the "SJ Student Life" section there are short articles on the 2012 Relay for Life, funding for a multi-year development project in Ukraine, student award winners, students Go Green @SJU, and students participating in the Passion Play at St. Michael's parish; in the "SJ Faculty" section there are short articles on Professor Tracy Penny Light being named Distinguished Teacher, Professor David Seljak participating in the Ontario Human Rights Commission Community Dialogue Workshop, Dr. Chris Burris being interviewed by Australia's Broadcasting Corporation Radio National, and Professor Dr. Ryan Touhey being named Director of the Chanchlani India Policy Centre; in the "SJ Alumni" section there are articles on celebrating the excellence of our SJU Alumni and an alumni profile of Anne Broadbent; in the "SJ Donor" section there is a profile of Susan McKearnen; as well there is an article on the 2012 SJU Alumni-Student Career Mixer, the feature SJ Class Notes, and notices for the reunion weekend in September, for the St. Jerome's/Resurrection Reunion in July, for the 12th Annual St. Jerome's Feast which includes a short profile on Bruce Rodrigues who will receive the Chancellor John Sweeney Award for Catholic Leadership, for the Alumni Golf Classic, and for the 3rd Annual 'Across the Creek' Alumni Event.

NOTE: There is an insert called "Celebrating Scholarly Achievements" which lists by Department all faculty publications, conferences, and invited talks which has not been scanned.

St. Jerome's University is located in Waterloo, Ontario, and is situated in the University of Waterloo. It was founded as St. Jerome's College in 1865 by the Congregation of the Resurrection. In 1959, it was granted university status and changed its name to the University of St. Jerome's College. It has been federated with the University of Waterloo since 1960. In 1998, the name was officially changed to St. Jerome's University.
