Item is a newsletter published by St. Jerome's University for its graduates, faculty, staff and friends. This issue includes a message from new President, Dr. Katherine Bergman, the section "SJ Events" has short articles on Katherine's welcome, the St. Jerome's Feast, and the Alumni Golf Classic; the "SJ Student Life" section has articles on Residence Floor Competitions and St. Jerome's relationship with charitable organization Ray of Hope; the section "SJ Lectures" offers a look at upcoming lecture events; the section "SJ UCEP" outlines the University Cooperative Education Program and its members; there is an article on St. Jerome's commitment to creating a culture of sustainability and an article on the Installation of Dr. Katherine Bergman as St. Jerome's 7th President and Vice-Chancellor; in the section "SJ Faculty" there is an article on Dr. Scott Kline's new book, "The Ethical Being: A Catholic Guide to Contemporary Issues" and an article on the current research of Professors John Rempel and Chris Burris of the Psychology department as well as short-takes on other faculty publications; in the "SJ Alumni" section there are articles on the Fr. Norm Choate, C.R. Distinguished Graduate Award, the St. Jerome's Alumni Advisory Group, and featured donor John Suchon; the "SJ News" section has an article on the new Senate Council and the Partnership Agreement between the Diocese of Hamilton, St. Jerome's University and six English Catholic school boards; also included are In Memoriums for Brother Clifford Bringleson, C.R., Father Eugeniusz Pietrasik, C.R., Fr. Jerome Kroetsch, C.R., and Fr. Francis Ruetz, C.R.

St. Jerome's University is located in Waterloo, Ontario, and is situated in the University of Waterloo. It was founded as St. Jerome's College in 1865 by the Congregation of the Resurrection. In 1959, it was granted university status and changed its name to the University of St. Jerome's College. It has been federated with the University of Waterloo since 1960. In 1998, the name was officially changed to St. Jerome's University.
