4 CONDITIONS OF ADMISSION. No Student will be accepted, 1st, without good certificates from his Pastor and former teacher ; 2nd, under 12 years of age ; 3rd, unless he is able to read and write and knows the rudiments of arithmetic 4th, unless the Faculty consider him fit for the College. GENERAL REGULATIONS. 1. The Students are continually under the supervision of the Faculty, and are subject to mild, but firm and parental discipline. 2. All correspondence with the pupils is subject to inspection by the College Authorities. 3. Particular attention is paid to the moral and physical welfare of every Student. 4. In case of sickness Students receive the best possible treatment in the College Infirmary. 5. No immoral or habitually intractable youth will be retained in the College. 6. The Scholastic year begins in September and closes in the latter part of the following June with a public Distribution of Medals and Premiums. 7. Parents and Guardians are urgently requested to send pupils promptly in time for the opening of classes, in order to avoid confusion and loss of time to Students and Teachers. 8. Pupils furnish their own towels, napkins, combs, brushes, soap &c. 9. At Christmas there is a short Recess ; but Students will not be allowed to go home except at the special request of their parents, and under condition that they return promptly on the day appointed for the resumption of Classes. 10. At Christmas, Easter and in June there are written Examinations, when Parents will receive a report of the diligence, progress and conduct of their children. Failure in examinations debars a student from advancement to a higher class. 11. Day Scholars will only be admitted, if they live with their parents. They must sleep in the College and conform strictly to the regulations of the house. --5- 12. Students of any Religious Denomination can be admitted ; but all must be present at the daily Devotional Exercises ; and on Sundays all attend the Catholic service, unless parents of Non-Catholics make arrangements with reliable friends of the Town to take their children to other places of worship. 13. Once a week the Very Rev. President or some one else of the Faculty gives a lecture on some Moral or Aesthetical subject. TERMS. To be paid invariably in advance in three terms viz: on September 10th, December 10th and March 20th. The terms of the Scholastic year are reckoned in Canadian Currency as follows :-- Board and Tuition from Oct. 1st to June 1st.... $120.00 Day Scholars 40.00 Physician's Fee and Medicine 3.00 Washing 12.00 Bed 6.00 Music, Piano 15.00 Music, other instruments 20.00 Use of Piano 10.00 Rooms for Philosophers 10.00 Rooms for others 15.00 Type-writing 30.00 Stenography. 10.00 Library Membership 1.00 Commercial Diploma 1.00 No extra charges are made for September and June to students who have made the full year of Studies. Interest will be charged on all arrears. Every month once begun is reckoned in full. Books, Stationery and other necessaries are furnished by the College at current retail prices, but only when a written agreement to that effect is signed by parents or guardians and a sufficient sum of money is deposited with the President.
