- BIOGRAPHY
Professor Donald DeMarco taught in the Philosophy Department at St. Jerome's from 1970 to 2002. He earned both a B.S. and an M.A. in general Science from Stonehill College, North Easton, Massachusetts, followed by an A.B. in Philosophy (1961) also from Stonehill College. He studied at the Gregorian University in Rome (1961-1962) and then earned an M.A. in Philosophy from St. John's University, Jamaica, New York (1965). His Ph.D. in Philosophy is also from St. John's University (1969).
Professor DeMarco has written 28 books and innumerable journal and newspaper articles. He is a Senior Fellow of Human Life International, a corresponding member of the Pontifical Academy for Life, a founding member of the American Bioethics Advisory Commission, has served in various editorial capacities for several publications, and is an adjunct professor at Holy Apostles College and Seminary in Cromwell, Connecticut.
In 2015 Professor DeMarco was awarded the Archbishop Adam Exner Award for Catholic Excellence in Public Life by the Catholic Civil Rights League.
SCOPE AND CONTENTS
The records for Donald DeMarco include a list of the books and journal articles he has written (list ends in 1992). There are unbound copies of many of his journal articles (1970-2001; 2019), plus four bound copies of other articles. Also included are copies of newspaper articles he has written from 1976 to 2018.

St. Jerome's University is located in Waterloo, Ontario, and is situated in the University of Waterloo. It was founded as St. Jerome's College in 1865 by the Congregation of the Resurrection. In 1959, it was granted university status and changed its name to the University of St. Jerome's College. It has been federated with the University of Waterloo since 1960. In 1998, the name was officially changed to St. Jerome's University.
