BIOGRAPHY

Lindsay Dorney taught in the English Department at St. Jerome's from 1968 to 1994. She earned both her B.A. and M.A. from the University of Louisville, Louisville, Kentucky.

Professor Dorney specialized in American Literature, composition, and women in literature. She served as Director of the University of Waterloo's women's studies program in the 1980's. She was also active in planning issues of the Region of Waterloo.

After leaving St. Jerome's, Professor Dorney taught in the English Department at the University of Southern Main in Portland. While there she was affiliated with the Program in Women's Studies and the Stonecoast Writers Seminar.

St. Jerome's University is located in Waterloo, Ontario, and is situated in the University of Waterloo. It was founded as St. Jerome's College in 1865 by the Congregation of the Resurrection. In 1959, it was granted university status and changed its name to the University of St. Jerome's College. It has been federated with the University of Waterloo since 1960. In 1998, the name was officially changed to St. Jerome's University.
