John Street between Rosemount Avenue and Weston Road has just been repaved. PARKS â€" The new TOT facility has been installed at Elm Park and the rest of the upgrade will be completed by mid September. Equipment has been added to Grattan Park. Improvements have been made to the Church Street and Lawrence Avenue west entrances to Cruickshank Park this fall. NEW BUSINESSES â€" I was pleased to participate in the following recent official openings: Shoppers Drug Mart, New Health Centre facility at 1995 Weston Road on July 25th. BIWAY‘s newest store â€" in the old Loblaws store on Weston‘s main street. I am also pleased to advise that bids are being requested for an historic Weston Streetscape Mural to be installed on the front facade of the BI WAY store. In these tough economic times, it is encouraging that Weston has two, new vibrant businesses. ; YORK WEST SENIORS CENTRE â€" I spoke on behalf of a $60,000 city grant application by the York West Senior Centre for capital improvements to its facilities at 1901 Weston Road and this was granted by Council at its July meeting.
