This was followed by the presenâ€" tation of Honour Award pins. Alâ€" together 165 students were honâ€" ored with this award. This year in grade 13, 13 students received their fifth pin in a row. Christie, inâ€" troduced the Head Table Guests. _ The contentious subject under discussion concerns a 4‘sâ€"acre site at Lawrence Avenue East and High Point Road upon which the school board wants to build an elementary school. Frustrated from following through with their plans for nine years due to a restrictive covenant, Having arranged a joint meeting with Council to discuss the possiâ€" bility of a posh school in a posh area it barred its doors to the pressâ€"a gesture that greatly conâ€" cerned Controller Irving Paisley who threatened to walk out if the press were not admitted. Trustees Ronald Leitch and Sydâ€" ney Moscoe threatened to walk out if they were and they did. One hour later when the press was ejected once again, Trustees Isobel Walker and John Newton walked out. Mr. Eakin said the purpose of the meeting would be for the members to gain an appreciation of the Quebec side of the picture. He said Quebeckers know more about the Englishâ€"speaking popuâ€" lation than the Englishâ€"speaking people knew about Quebec. Three minor fires broke out Weston during the past week.
