He moved Jeff Pickâ€" up into centre between Morrison and Hume. The big guy came up with a 3 goal effort and a good two way effort by all three kept the Steelers on their toes all night. But for the fine work of Cam Newton in goal for the Steelers, the score could have been mucW greater. The other goals were scored by Dave Rudge and" Andy Culligan. In contrast to Friday nights game, this was a fine cleanly played game with only 5 minor penalâ€" ties. Cropper was called on to make 37 saves while Newton stopped 24 shots. . IN THE DRESSING ROOM The Annual Allâ€"Star game this year will be played at George Bell Arena, Monday, January 16. It will be held between the Jr. "B" All Stars and York Steel, last year‘s championship team. The proceeds going to the Cripâ€" pled Kids and the O.H.A. emerâ€" gency players fund. This should be a good game, come out and support the kids. Tickets are on sale $1.00 and you can get them aities with 8 minutes th Lastic and 8 minutes to Durbano. But the verdict? Well, if you were there, you be the judge. With Brian Cropper getting his third shutâ€"out the Weston team turned in one of its better efforts this season. Coach Ken Auarell The third period was Weston versus the Rangers and Lastic Versus Durbano. The team got 2 goals, one each by Rudge, his second goal and by Ken Hume. Lastic and Durbano goh the penâ€" misconduct to Weston‘s Gary Ford for continuous fighting. This does not help Gary in his quest for the scoring championâ€" ship. I:feel if the powers to be had had more control on the game, this nonsense would not happen. Between all this, the teams found some scoring time, only this time the Rangers outâ€" played the Weston crew on 2 fine goals by Roberts of the Rangers. PAY BOOST Several weeks ago, I posed the question: "How do you pay a teacher his real worth?" I then s»zzested that one technique which could be used would be to weed out all the poor teachers and increase the wages of those who are true educators. " Speaking as an outsider instead of one of the profession however, â€"I missed the whole point. The solution as the Ontario Secondary School Teachers‘ Federation see it is merely to demand a 25 p.c. acrossâ€"theâ€"board wage increase. I am almost certain that the vast majority of teachers are entitled to perhaps a 10 p.c. increase. because of recent increases in the cost of living plus the experience and seniorâ€" ity they have built.up during the past vear. But I wonder, has the great maiority of teachers increasâ€" ed productivity 15 per cent? Are they 15 per cent more efâ€" fective in the classroom than they were last year? Is each and every one of fhem worth the extra 15 p.c. the Federation is demanding? Somehow, I feel the answer to all these questions is a flat NO.
