PARENTS NIGHT Parents night at Lambton Park â€" public school has always been quite an occasion â€" and this year was no exception reports Tella Babyâ€"sitting chore turned out to be surprise party Last Friday evening they were asked by their son John and his wife Carol of Mississauga to come and babyâ€"sit for them. Then the party _ got started in earnest, with dinner and cake gifts, cards and wires of congratulations from prime minister T rudeau and Ontario premier Robarts. "What a way to spend our 50th wedding anniversary", they sighed but things picked up when they _ heard shouts of "surprise" from the family members gathered together at the house. CGIT SERVICES Our young ladies who are a part of the Canadian Girls They moved to East Drive in the Janeâ€"Eglinton area in 1957 and to ‘their present home a year ago. Mrs. _ Thomas _ attends Sunday services _ at _ a nonâ€"denominational church as she lives too far from the Anglican church she used to go to. ‘"They ‘participate in all the activities of their senior gitizens‘ group a t Scarlcttwoodr but they also enjoy ‘being with their family‘", said Mrs. Archibald. BLOOD CLINIC At this time of year when everyone is engrossed in preparing for the coming festivities, the number of donors drop off alarmingly at the blood donor clinics â€" just at the time when the need goes up due to increased accidents. The same evening at 7 p.m. the CGITers of North Runnymede United Church, Pritchard Ave. will brighten the church auditorium with their~ candles and carol singing. An added attraction is the Christmas pageant in costume presented by the explorers. Please make an effort to combat this trend by donating your blood on Thursday, December 19 at the bloor donor clinic, Church of the Good Shepherd, Weston Rd. and Eglinton. Don‘t be too busy to save a life. On a recent Wednesday evening, five new guides were enrolled: Cindy Thomson, Petra Busshoff, L ynn Wilson, Angola Potkidis, Susan Howes. We always like to hear about the activities of the 261st guide company who meet at Roseland public school, Jane St. because they are full of life and always doing something exciting under the direction of their capable captain, Joan Howes. There were seven guides who wanted to learn more about looking after children and took part in the St. John‘s ambulance child care course. They were: Bonnie McCausland, Sheila Martin, Vivienne Scott, Julie Aimsworth, Patricia Clarke, Emily Grey, Gloria Jean Scott.
