Some folks are so niggardly with their love that they lay down conditions and stipulations in return for the little love they show. When Mary anointed the feet of Jesus He told the people that the reason she loved Him so much was because she had been forgiven much. So often folks associate Christianity with a long face, a lack of enjoyment, a something that has to be endured like a Lenten fast. Perhaps this attitude springs from the fact that so many Christians lack joy; they have no thrilling testimony that attracts people to the Lord. I have notice that a Christian's joy so often is governed by his love for his Lord. Many years ago when a young friend of mine heard that I had been converted she remarked "Oh no, not Dorothy!
