York Controller Philip White asked board of control on Wednesday to advertise in local press asking residents interested in serving their municipality to submit their qualifications and Next year at election time the people who pay taxes in the borough of York may get the opportunity to offer their services as appointees to the various committees and boards in the borough. White wants appointment of ordinary citizens the construction, the opportunity was taken to realign the Humber River. The realignment will reduce the risk of erosion to the bank below the large apartments on Weston Road. As a result of moving the river, a large Metro trunk sewer also had to be relocated. The cost for the new bridge, approaches, river diversion, sewer relocatioris and the reinstating of the parkland in the flood plain, including land acquisition, was approximately $1 million.
