The trip will last from Thursday evening until Sunday night. The Ottawa students will be billetted for the weekend by a Toronto host or hostess, who will in turn be the guest of that student the following weekend, when the trip is returned. The hosts will meet their guests at the bus terminal on Thursday night. On Friday. the Ottawa students will attend classes in North York with their host or hostess. Friday night they will attend a dance at one of the North York high schools, and Saturday afternoon, they will tour To remove stubborn grout. The Inter Collegiate Student Council for North York has been given the go-ahead on an exchange trip between Ottawa and Toronto. Approximately 35 North York students will take part in this exchange: two from each North York high school, and some of the members of the executive of the ICSCNY. it will be a two part exchange, with Toronto hosting Ottawa first, and then Toronto returning the visit. SKATING PARTY Another way to welcome the New Year is to join the young people who are looking forward to skating to the joyfumusic of the 48th Highlander Band at Nathan Phillip Square Tuesday evening December 31 starting at 9 p.m. There will be free coffee at AOULT ENTERTAINMENT Wife Preservers Projects for New Year _ Fort Bowie This trip is just one of the many projects which the Inter Collegiate Student Council for North York hopes to accomplish this year. Further proposals include a Red Cross blood donor clinic, a poetry workshop, and a science fair, along with several others. Through the encouragement of the administration and the participation of the North York students, the ICSCNY, may well turn out to be one of the best student organizations in Toronto, and possibly even in Canada!!! . The main purpose of the trip is to give the students from Ottawa a chance to see a provincial government, and. the students from Toronto, a chance to see a federal system. On Saturday night. there will be a party given by one of the Toronto hosts for all the billets and their hosts. Sunday afternoon will include a tour of Toronto for sightseeing or some other activity, depending on the weather. The students will leave for home Sunday evening, in time to attend school again on Monday. The following weekend, or perhaps two weeks later, the North York students will return the visit. the parliament buildings and Queen's Park. After midnight, recorded music will carry, the skating party into the wee hours of 1969. midnight and a mammoth fireworks display. The cubs made wall plaques and the scouts sold cold drinks at their annual hobby show and bake sale. The boys earned the tu'ds in many varied ways. They carried out garbage for the neighbours, ran errands, cut lawns, gathered coat hangers, cleaned up back yards and generally made themselves very useful to those around them. heading out of town with their skis and toboggans for fun in the snow. For the more leisurely inclined the Number Marshes are an extensive area well suited for the study of winter wild life. it is a beautiful place to take the family for a pleasant walk along the banks of the Humber. SANTA'S HELPERS The 209th cubs and scouts who meet in Mount Dennis United Church have succeeded in raising enough money to provide a wheelchair for Bloorview hospital for crippled children, reports their leader Doris Ormerod.
