For July and August the regular service at North Park Presbyterian Church will be held on Wednesday night in place of Sunday service. In a letter to his congregation, Rev. George Vais said more and more families are away from home on weekends, thus the change in time. Rev. Vais will be in charge during the July services and Rey. Wayne Smith during the month of August. Rev. Smith is Assistant Secretary of the Board of Evangelism and Social Action of the Presbyterian church. During the past year, he and two other gentlmen have toured across Canada to meet with lay people, and ministers to hear their problems, success stories, and insights. Word was received last week in the Maple Leaf district of the passing of a pioneer resident of the section, Mrs. Lynn Mousley. The name Mousley was known across the Toronto area, in the vegetable business for many years. THURSDAY, JUNE 19, 1969 The family operated a market garden business on a large parcel of land on the present Rustic Road. The sympathy of the district is extended to the surviving brothers, Reid and Norman of Weston and two sisters, Mrs. (Ruby) Forbes of Florida and Mrs. (Ira) Bently of Mt.Dennis. ‘ Mr. and Mrs. S. Garbutt and family of Rustic Road are moving into their new home the end of the month. Mrs. Garbutt took an active interest in Girl Guide work in the area as did her mother Mrs. Geo. Halligan. Congratulations to two young _ couples, _ Donald Wilson and Dianne Bevan, also David Halligan and Andrea Merriam, on the occasion of their weddings in Elverston Park Church last Saturday. The â€" congregations â€" of Elverston P ark and Trethewey Park Churches will worship at 11.00 a.m. rather than at the present times. During the month of July the two will gather at Elverston Park and _ in Trethewey Park for the month of August. Formerly the Elverston Park congregation was led in worship by Rev. Carmen Beckel for the month of July and North Park Chuch returning to their own church for the month of August, with Rev. George Vais officiating. In my own home I look at the skates hanging up, the helmet on the shelf, hockey sticks in the basement and I think of this past season when my son was giving his all â€" along with _ other members of his team. It didn‘t seem to matter to him whether he won or lost, he was skating his heart out, playing his regular shift and thoroughly enjoying himself. This past season was the first time I had anything to do with organized hockey. No doubt you have heard pros and cons of Minor Hockey but believe me,. I am firmly on the ‘pro‘ side.
