In the morning game Ernie Neely’s men met Humber Valley in the third round elimination game which saw our hunch come out bl winners in an exciting two way contest. Herb Lance opened our account with the first goal of the game, and long after Humber Valley tied it up David Holland rapped in the winner. After a long rest, the boys took the ice against Oakville in a semi-final bid which alas, failed in a 3-0 win for the boys from Ford country. Coach Neely, his team manager Terry Holland, and all who attended the Tour- nament express their thanks for the courtesy and goodwill extended by Streetsville Lions Club and will always associate their handsome presentation plaques with a 7:30 P.M. He closed by saying that until something is definite about this northwest service, we should look very carefully at the proposition of abandoning passenger trains nos. 986 and 987 and the people they now serve. This is going to help the taxpayers. In no way do we expect the taxes to go down but it's reasonable to assume they won't go up that much either - unless of course we figure. that throwing this -25 million complex into our town will do to the sewers ... and the road situation." Mr. Singer denied that he would give away parking. He said that he definitely im tended to charge for parking. He also said that if he purchases the parking lot, ownership will not pass to him until he starts ex- cavating the site. "I would blame Peter (Allen) for some mighty poor planning . . . We don't want our parking lot up within the complex." Following the speakers, the audience was allowed a question period in which they were vocal in their protest of the parking lot sale. _ Benson and Decillla ' to r.
