11 members of the Etobicoke Aquatic Club are in Vancouver this week to compete in the Olympic trials: Joey Weir, Uno Drive; Randy Croome, Grasspoint Cres.; Linda Osborne, Durban Road; Linda and Janet Nash, Oakfield Drive; Elizabeth Daniel, Wembley Dr. (in the East End); Cathy Abel, Grenview Blyd. N.; Kathy Sansom, Mossford Court; Doug Densmore, Jill Cres.; Glem MeClocklin, Scarlett Road; and Lance Peto, Pheasant Lane. They flew out last Tuesday accompanied by their coach, Don Miller, and by one of the mothers, Mrs. Daniel. They were billeted in homes in Vancouver until Sunday when they moved to the University of British Columbia. The trials started Tuesâ€" day. Joey Weir has been training with the Olympic coach in Vancouver since May. Both Mr. and Mrs. Weir have gone out to wateh their daughter. Also in Vancouver are Mrs.: Osborne and Mrs. MeClocklin. Many will be interested in knowing how the Club financed this trip to the Olympic trials for the young swimmers. The Canada Fitness Council paid part, the Canadian Amateur Swim Assn. part; and the remainder was split between the Etobicoke Aquatie Club and the parents of the boys and girls who earned the right to go.
