Canoeing takes on a new look this year. Traditional paddling events have been replaced by a spectator pleasing canoe splash. This entertaining program on Water ski kite flying, a fast growing aquatic sport, will be the feature Saturday and Sunday, August 28 and 29, when the North American Championships will be held. Opening weekend will feature the Saturday running of the international motor boat championships. This event attracts top hydroplane drivers from all parts of Canada and the United States. Sunday, August 22, is highlighted with the 33rd annual lake ontario dog swim, sponsored by the Toronto Academy of Veterinary Medicine. This unique event, symbolic of the CNE, has this year been advanced in the program from Labour Day Weekend.
