* 0 The Cockney Pride in Howard Johnson‘s Airport Hotel is fastly becoming one of the most popular fun spots on the jet strip. A major reason for the success of the Pride is due to the fine entertainment provided by the Pub Crawlers (left to right) Charlie Kent. Kent Stanley and Reg Green. They also back up Jane Forrest, an excellent vocalist. An added attraction is Ray Sonin of CFRB who hosts Calling All Britains Night every Tuesday evening in the Cockney A great deal of thought and expense went into Cattle It‘s the 60th anniversary of Diana Sweets Limited and it would seem that they have celebrated the occasion in grand style with the opening of their latest restaurant, Cattle Country in the Humbertown Plaza, Royal York and Dundas Ken Staniey & The Pub Crawlers featuring Charlie Kent, Rita Hall, and Reg Green, appear nightly from 9 p m. to \ a m Authentic music of the British Istes and many favorite sing Ken is musical consultant tor CFTO TV‘s Pig and wWhistie Other fine Emu wines | 999 Red Port Wine Medium Dry Sherry 444 Dessert Wine Imported and bottled by the LCBO NOW! They are actually students who are helping put themselves through college. The manager in Cattle Country is Tony Kennedy, an amiable Irish chap who obviously likes both his job and people. Another nic item is the bread. They bake their own oatmeal loaf and a whole loaf with plenty of butter is brought to each table. Five excellent wines have been imported from France under the Diane Sweets label and are sold at $5.00 to $5.75 per bottle, which is certainly good value. Prices in Cattle Country range from $3.50 to $6.75 for dinner. Cattle Country is open to patrons from 5 pm to 10 pm daily except Sunday when they close at 9 pm. In Cattle Country, which is the name given the dining area, the specialty is steak, but you will also find lobster tails on the menu as well. The beef is something that they are proud of, and rightly so. Their beef is all cornâ€"fed and imported just for them. Boukydis and manager Steve Doyle. The Back 40 is a cosy bar in the front of the building that is opened Monday to Thursday from 3 pm till 11.30 pm. and from 12 noon to 1 am. Friday and Saturday. The same decor and atâ€" mosphere prevails in there as throughout the other rooms. A fire in a fireplace at the back of the bar lends a nice homey atmosphere. Over the bar is a Mennoniteâ€" type buggy from the years gone by. Peanuts in the shell are on each table, and customers are asked just to throw the shells on the floor, which all blends in with the theme. The beer and liqour prices have got to be as reasonable as any you can find anywhere. Ray Sonin of CFRB radio is still packing them in on Tuesday nights at Howard Johnson‘s Cockney Pride.
