The annual meeting of the Corporation of the Norâ€" thwestern General Hospital was held on Thursday, April 27 in the hospital cafeteria. The annual reports were read by the Administrative staff and the president of the Hospital Auxiliary. The report of the building committee was read by Cy Townsend who stated that the working plans are now being drawn up by the arâ€"| chitect and the board are‘ hopeful that construction will be started in the fall of this year. A tired group of about fifty students â€" members of the band of Roland Michener Secondary School, South Porcupine, near Timmins â€" arrived at Nelson A. Boylen school about 4 p.m. Thurâ€" sday May 4 to meet their billets, members of the Boylen band. After lunch most of the kids went swimming then soent the afternoon at McLaughlin _ Planetarium. Friday night a party was held at the home of Bill Kennedy _ a _ Westview student. The Westview band had an exchange trip with South Porcupine earlier in the year. I billeted three girls, Ivy Graham and Chery] Rodgers of South Porcupine and Annie Kolich of Schumnacher. Roland Michener buses students to South Porcupine from several surrounding towns. On Saturday everyone entertained their guests differently. Some downtown, some at Yorkdale or the Science Centre. We treated our billets to a day at Black Creek Pioneer Village. Sunday morning everyone met at Nelson A. Boylen by 9:30 a.m. They didn‘t want to leave and it took an hour to get everyone on the bus. Our band is anxiously awaiting Thursday, May 25 when we will return the visit. This show will appeal to all generations.
