The food was fabulous and as I remember we were even served. (We weren‘t at the student hotel). It was really lovely. imagined. Our hotel was located on the main canal and just a few bridges away from St. Mark‘s Square. Venice is sinking but is Venice is really quite different to what I had beautiful with all the buildings rising up out of the water and at night the lights dance on the water, a magnificent sight. After supper, when it was dark, five of us decided we just couldn‘t stay in Venice without going for a gondola ride. So off we went to barter with _ the _ Gondoliers. Armondo didn‘t sing but he was a great guide. And so, with fond memories of Venice, we went to bed to arise the next morning to journey to Florence. Thursday, July 13 was spent â€" sightseeing â€" and shopping. In the morning we took a boat to the Island of Murano to visit a glass factory.
