The appeal court of Ontario has awarded Mary and Carl Feldstein, Dynevor Road, custody of 4â€"yearâ€"old Carrie, the child the couple have been raising since she was ten days old. "But her natural mother, 38â€" yearâ€"old Jane _ Louise Moores, said she will take her fight for custody of the child she calls Lisa, to the highest court in Canada. The appeal court unanimously overturned a previous Ontario Supreme Court decision which had ordered Carrie returned to her natural mother and could â€" have been the culmination of two years of court contests. Commissioner of Works, Colin Macdonald ordered the Glencedar Bridge spanning Cedarvale Ravine closed to vehicular traffic following a report from consulting engineers A.D. Margison and Associates that the structure Carrie was the centre of controversy even before she was born. Mrs. Moores had wanted an abortion but her husband, who was not the father of the child refused to give his consent. Mrs. Moores separated from her husband and the baby was conceived during the separation. â€" Arrangements were made with the Children‘s Aid Society to take temporary custody of the child.
