They are the Stonemans and come from a musical family that dates back to 1924. The Stonemans are all part of one family that descended from the original en- tertaining Stoneman, Ernest V (pop) Stoneman. who passed away on June 14. 1968 at the age of 75. He started entertaining in 1924 and aised a family that totalled . All of the family were v . enthusiastic about music and took to it seriously. Pop Stoneman cut hun- dreds of records and Edison cylinders during those early days, and some of them sold into the millions. " _ The group he formed later with his children went on to attain wide acclaim among country music fans. Since his passing. the present quintet of Stonemans have made it big in the field of television, night clubs and recording.
