Not if you are a Bahamian stu- dent visiting Canada for the first time. Other such statements and questions were heard as students of St. John's College, Nassau, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Rempel, former York Borough of Education teachers, toured Arlington Senior Public School. Upon arrival the Bahamians were treated to a chicken lunch courtesy of the Principal ofthe school, Mr. D.B. Thompson and the student council. They viewed a slide-tall: show presented by Mr. Irwin, Guidance Counsellor, Arlington students were delighted in seeing the vis- itors, they exchanged ideas regarding education, cli- mate, culture, etc. It was a memorable experience for the students of St. John's College as their visit at Arlington was only part of (Pt), Ac, F ii? Small groups of visitors were then taken on a walkabout tour of the school guided by Arlington students. Many photos were taken by our guests. The tour ended with many of the students exchanging addresses and the signing of the guest book. After the visitors had reassembled, Ruth Wiggins, the com- munity liason officer, briefly explained the School Board's multicultu- ral policy and described the Black Heritage Program. MM). We hope that our guests enjoyed their stay in Can- ada. Their Arlington visit was rewarding and a good example of cross-cultural exchange and international cooperation.
