The anniversary of the Methodist Sunday School, of Weston, will be held (D.V.) on the 18th and 20th insts. A The most important sale of pure bred stock this season, will be the disâ€" persal sale of the registered Jersey herd owned by Captain T. Critchley. The sale will take place on Tuesday, December 15th.. There are over twenty cows and heifers and two bulls in the herd, all of which will be sold without reserve. Potrer, The Weston branch of the West iYork Womens‘ Institute, held a most successful méeting in the Town Hall, on Saturday afternoon. There was a large attendance of members, who were deeply interested in Miss Campbell‘s instructive address on "The Judicious Housewife and Homeâ€" maker.‘‘ At the conclusion of her address the speaker demonstrated some suggestions for Xmas. gifts. The West York Farmers‘ also met on Saturday afternoon and were enterâ€" tained to supper by the members of the Womens‘ Institute. At the conâ€" clusion of the excellent repast served by the ladies, a joint meeting of the two Institutes was held, at which over thcee hundred members were present. The chair was taken by Mr. A. E. Mercer, President of the Instiâ€" tute, the speakers being Miss Campâ€" bell, who spoke on ‘‘Tne Ideal Home;‘‘ Dr. Reed, of Georgetown, who had some good advice to offer the farmers, on ‘‘The Feeding of Horses,‘"‘ and Mr. Calnan, of Allisonâ€" ville, who gave the audience the benefit of his knowledge of dairying. Wadsworth to the President of the Weston Cricket Club,, in which Mr. Wadsworth expresses his regret at not being able to attend the banâ€" quet given by Mr. Verral to the memâ€" bers of the Club. "It may be interesting" says Mr. Wadsworth, "‘to the members of the Club to know that abou: forty years ago I introduced cricket into the Weston Grammar School, having just left the Grammar Seaool at. Niagara. where cricket was a feature, the boys being instructed by two celebrated Canadian cricketers, Rev_ T. D. Phillips and Horace Phillips, sons of the head master. & We formed a Boys‘ Club at the Weston Grammar School, and shortly afterwards the mea‘ of theâ€" Village formed the Weston Cricket Clab, and s .me of the boys of the Grammar School became members, and assisted matarially in upholding the supreâ€" macy of Weston in many cricketing contests. Some of those boys are still alive and some are deid.
