Hamilton, formerly? pastor of Westâ€" minster iPrésbyterian .Church, has been promioted to the rank of Lieutenant in ‘‘O‘‘ Reserve Battery of the Royal Canadian Horse Artillery, at present stationed in _ London, _ England. Lieut. Hamilton is the first of the three sons of Rev. Mr. Hamiltor to reach / England, although his two brothers,‘Lieut. Frank, with the 20th Halton Rifles, ard Lieut. H. K. with the 10th Royal Grenadiers, have also enlisted for service. . Lieut. ‘Gordon Hamilton went to England in June lagt with the Uniâ€" versity of Toronto battery as a pYâ€" vate. His rapid promotion is due to merit and is a pleasure to his many friends in Weston. He was a student at Toronto University, and was fof some time on the reportorial staff of The Globe.
