Mr. Parkinson was present at the League on Monday night, giving his travelogue, "A Trip from Coast to Coast." After arriving from the "Old Land" at Halifax we travelled rapidâ€" ly, stopping to see <the great lift locks at Peterboro and a few of the wonders of Canadian structures and scenery till we reached Winnipeg, the grateway of the West. Here we took a glance at the C. P. R. yards where cars, nothing but cars, stood laden with wheat for the east, or else startâ€" ing out empty west for the golden supplies. After a glimpse of Western life we reached Calgary. Here we tarried for refreshments, which were of a musical nature. A solo was renâ€" dered by Mrs. Dr. Irwin and a violin duet by Mr. Strickland and Miss G. Lyons, which the people responded to with a hearty encore. From this point our journey was slower, taking in the beauties of nature through the Rockies, and the fertile valleys of Briâ€" tish Columbia. When arriving in Vanâ€" ‘ couver we boarded a steamer and floated over the waters of the Pacific [ till we touched the shores of Japan [ and realized the fact that in a few | short hours we had taken a trip from / the Atlantic to the Pacific. _ On Wednesday, April 18, 1917, the members of St. Phillip‘s â€"Church Dorâ€" cas Society held their closing meeting for the season at the home of the president, Mrs. Arthur Shaw.
