She was the daughter of the late Mr. John Pirrittee, who came to Weston (then called the Humber) in 1833. Mrs. Maguire was born the same year and had lived in Westan all her life. On April 3, 1856, she was married to Mr. David Maguire, who predeceased her about 20 years ago. She was a member of the Methodist Church for over sixty years, but owâ€" ing to failing health she was not able to walk to the church, so for some timz she worshipped . with the Old Presbyterian congregation. Mrs. Maâ€" guire was a quiet but consistent Chrisâ€" tian, a kind nei%hbor and a devoted wife and mother. She had been failâ€" Blanshard â€" After an illness of five days from pluro pneumonia the death occurred of Robert Blanshard on Tuesday, May 15th, at his home near Midhurst staâ€" tion, where he spent the last thirty years of his life. Deceased was born on May 4th, 1846, in Toronto Townâ€" ship. â€" After a short service held, at his late residence. on Wednesday night the body was conveyed by train to the home of his daughter, Mrs. H. S. Stone, Cross Street, Weston. Funâ€" weral services conducted by Rev. H. A. McKay were held in the Presbyterian Church, Cross Street, â€" on Thursday, May 17th. Interment took place in Riverside Cemetery. He leaves to mourn his loss a widow, five daughâ€" ters and one son. Seats will be reâ€" served for the parents and friends of the boys on the roll. Mr. Stanley Morrow, who has been invalided home from the front, spent a day with his brother, Mr. J. H. Morâ€" row, of Rosemount Ave. Mr. Morâ€" row, who was an expert electrician and gasoline engineer in Alberta, enâ€" listed in the Royal Navy early in the war. He received his training at Southampton and _ got his commisâ€" sion as chief engineer of H. M. motor launeh No. 267, one f the Uâ€"boat chasers in the North S"Qa,. On Febâ€" ruary his ship was shelled and sunk by a submarine and although resâ€" cued in a few hours by a destroyer, his exposure in the cold water led to pleurisy and other troubles that have kept him in the hospitals for some time. A committee of expert surâ€" geons have now decided that he will not be able to resume his duties and granted him an honorable discharge. ; i Carmichael â€" Rddie Carmichael, the well known Mocal lacrosse player, passed away last Friday at the Weston Sanitarium at the age of 25 years. He had been ill for a year or more, part of which time he spent in Muskoka. Deceased came to Toronto some years ago from Tottenham. | He first played lacrosse with <he Capitals at Jesse Ketchum Park, and afterwards joined the Maitâ€" lands, with whom he played junior, intermediate and senior. Latterly he was with the Tecumseh professional team as a home player. He was also spare goal keeper for the Shamrock Hockey team in the N.H.A. The body was taken to Ward‘s undertaking parâ€" lors, Weston. Funeral services were Rheld on Saturday morning in St. ‘John\’s,Church, George Street. Interâ€" ment took place in Mount Hope Cemâ€" etery. The Toronto and York Highway Board is erect;ng'direction signs at all the principal intersections in York County. The signs are of white‘ enâ€" amel in steel frame. At the top is the name of the municipality or loâ€" cality where the sign is displayed, and below names of other places in the district with the distances and arrow showing directions. Deceased, who was in her 62nd year, has been a resident of Weston for the past three years, moving from â€" Tottenham. Erior to then they resided in Woodbridge for 20 yvears, where Mr. Hollingshead conâ€" ducted a jewellery store. She is surâ€" vived by her husband, one son, J. It runs alongside the sidewalk and spoils that side of the street for business, thus it is a detriment. â€" The new Torontoâ€"Hamilton Highway will take 24 feet.. The railway will have room in the centre of the road. It will then be possible for an 18 foot macadam road to be built on the north side, thus two good. roadways for the town on the main street.
