September 13th, at the hospital of Mrs. Albert Buckley (Isaâ€" bel Barbour) after a short illness. Deâ€" ceased was born in Derby, Grey Counâ€" ty, 29 years ago, in which vicinity she lived until she was married to Albert Buckley of Mount Dennis six years ago, and has resided there since. About a month she came to visit her mother, Mrs. Jas. Barbour, Spruce Street,and while there took ill and was removed to Galt hospital, where all was done that skill could accomplish, but of no avail. Her only brother paid [ the supreme sacrifice at Vimy Ridge | on April 9th last. The funeral service took place at 8.30 on Sunday evening at 29 Spruce Street. Mackenzie of Woodbridge spoke of his experiences at the Somme and Vimy Ridge. Lieut. A. J. Miller and Flight Lieut. Munday gave short but interâ€" esting addresses on their work at the front. All the speakers congratulated the I. O, D.. E. organization on the good work they were doing for the men at the front. During the past three years the Union Jack Chapter has raised $14,000 for war work. Mrs. A. Dods, convener of the Red Cross department, reported that since February last 1425 parcels, valued at $5358, had been sent to the Mimico boys, and 418 pyjama suits, 50 banâ€" dages, 12 pillow slips and 141 towels to Red Cross headquarters. Several letters of appreciation were read from the boys who had received parcels. The first prize socks in the chilâ€" dren‘s exhibit at Weston fair had a history worth repeating.
