Hot tea will be served free of charge on the grounds. A band will be in attendance, and concerts will be given at intervals. I "Nursing Sister‘Edgar arrived at her home on the Lake Shore Road last Friday. Nurse Edgar, who has fhe distinction of being the only Mimico girl who has seen service overseas, en- listed in March of 1917, and arrived in England in December. After she had served for six months in Eng- land she filed her application for ser- vice in France, but before she was accepted the armistice was signed. The work, she says, is most interesting and the cheerfulness of the wounded soldiers wonderful. She returned on the Olympic, with fifty-five nugses and five thousand troops. Nurse Edgar says that the Olympic is a splendid boat, and that this iito be its last trip as a hospital ship. Rate is 35 Mills With the slightly increased assess~ ment and careful _ _management the council has succeeded in getting the rate down to 35 mills for the year 1919. This is indeed welcome news to tho taxpayer, when one considers the high cost ot living and the cen- tinual rise in prices. This is a decrease of 4 mills this year. Mimico has had some big expenditures to carry on ac- count of improvements.» With more houses and people, the. rate will be- come still lower, The style of house being built means a still larger assess- ment and thus more valuable property to the-town. B0051; your town and keep the rate down. The council is to be congratulated upon their efforts to keep down expenses. i L. J. WEST, Mayor. J. A.
