[to the Methodist Church that calls ( for grateful remembrance and recog- nition. Your counsels have been marked by wisdom and your efforts in assisting in carrying forward the various enterprises that have been entrusted to the church, been greatly valued, KYour places have seldom been vacant in the public ser- 'trites of the church; your voices con- tributed to the praises of the sanctu- arty, and you have "been interested lis- teners to the gospel message. The re- I membrance of Ihese thirrg,enrivtysft1s" cause tor grateful acknowledgement to you and not-unnaturauy regret at their piscontinuance. It is somewhat of a's'atistaction to know that the sev- erance of your connethion with us will not be immediate. We will still have the opportunity of some association with you, though less frequently than in the past. Be assuredof this that you will ever be welcomed to the pla- ces that have known yotVso long. The Removing as you are from our town after a residence of a number of years among us, we cannot allow the change to take place with out giving you some expressions of our appreciation of your worth as citizens and the great loss the community is sustaining in the re-‘ moval of a family of such character and standing as yours has been. We believe we are giving expressions to what is a general feeling of regret among all who have known you at your departure from Weston. To be regarded as worthy citizens ot a Christian community is an honor which is yours and one which, we be- lieve, you do not undervalue. But it is? in the relation you have sustained FARM STOCK A large number of friends of the Weston Methodist Church gathered last Wednesday evening in the church schoolroom to. bid farewell to Mr and Mrs. A. G. Gouldiug and family, all ot whom had been actively associat- ed with the church for a number of years and who were leaving to make their future home in Toronto. The pastor, Rev. J. IV. Stewart, presided and after a pleasant hour had been spent in social intercourse, called up- on the people to be seated. An open- ing number by the choir was appreci- ated by all. Dr. Charlton was then called, to the platform and read the address from the congregation. Mr. Macklin made the presentation of a handsome gold headed ebony cane to Mr. Goulding. Mrs. Smithson, as President of the Ladies' Aid, handed Mrs. Goulding a beautiful bouquet of Chrysanthemums and Miss Bessie Macklin, as representative, of the choir, gave Miss Hazel Goulding an electric reading lamp. Mr. Goulding, on be, half of himself and family, thanked the friends tor their kindness. assur- ing them that although they were leaving Weston as a place of presi- dence, they would carry with them the memory of many pleasant hours and} would also continue to be frequent visitors both in the homes and at the church. Probably when college days were ended by the family and near- ness to educational centres, did not mean anything he and Mrs. Gouldfing might again become residents of Weston, but in whatever sphere they moved Weston friends and Weston Methodist Church would always mean much to them. Mrs. J. IE.. Taylor, who had been President of the Ladies' Aid for a number of years, was also carnations in recognition of her valu- able services. Short speeches by sev- eral of the brethren interspersed by musical numbers and the serving ot light refreshments brought the even- ing to a close. To Mr. and Mrs. A. G.
