COOK QUICK AND EFFECTIVE MEASURES NEEDED AT ONCE On Saturday evening on alightiug from a radial car we had to stand on that exceedingly narrow strip between the car tracks and the Highway for almost five minutes. There was no chance of getting across the road. The motor cars were coming two abreast and passing east and west. Surely some action can be taken and must be taken to ensure the safety of the public. [ Last Wednesday John Cameron was still sick and not able to appear in court. The case was again ad- journed till Wednesday, the 29th, and if Mr. Cameron does not appear then, other steps will be taken. All these adjournments take up the time ot the reeve and his witnesses, and time means money. Mr. Cameron's bill of costs is mounting up. Has anyone started the ball rolling regarding the laying out of a, rink? This is a thing which is worth think- ing about and which deserves every consideration. Our young people need Had an elderly lady been in the pre- dicament we were in on Saturday, an accident must surely have happened. The motorists will not stop, in fact, they were tooting their horns for us to get out of the way. We could not step back because the radial cars were coming fast, and we dare not step backward, else we should have been run down. The two victims ot this state of affairs at Mimico last Sat- urday and Monday are still confined to bed, although they are doing nice- ly. We have agitated along these lines tor months, and we publicly de- mand action to be taken by our coun- cil to rectify this nuisance and men- ace to our lives. -The Young Man’s Opportunity-- BUY VICTORY BONDS. q-.To prosper-.
