BARRATT,/Clerk 0 The .regular meeting of Etobicoke Council was held in "the ‘Township Hall on Monday with a good attenâ€" dance, Reeve Jackson in the chair. Routine business was put through and the following deputations given a hearing. A strong representation of the Long Branch Ratepayers headed by Mr. Owens asked for the water area to be extended from theâ€" westerly limits of New Toronto to the Etobiâ€" coke river, taking in the Eagtwood property and the new subdivisions in that section. The petition was fully ~signed and after a thorough discussion _of the subject their request was grantâ€" ed. They also put up a strong plea for additional lights in the Eastwood section but this was refused as the Hydro cannot supply the necessary power. A grant was asked for the annual Long Branch Fair and given, also one for Thistletown Fair.â€" Mr. Parker of Sunny Lea asked for road improvemnnts in that section, pointâ€" ing out that several of the roads had had no work put on them for the past ten or twelve years, and conseâ€" quently were in bad shape. Christie Hill, he pointed out, was dangerous. The Council promisedâ€" attention to this ‘matter. The following resoluâ€" tions were passed: Moved by Tier and Gardhouse that the tenders of C. H. Burgess for $17,361.15 debentures of the Township of Etobicoke bearing interest at the rate of six and oneâ€"half per cent. per annum and maturing in ‘five annual payments at the rate of $98.07 and accrued interest be acâ€" cepted. Moved b)KEK\:[ercer and Tier that the treasurer be instructed to forward a cheque to H. Harkness, treasurer of Long Branch Ratepayers Association for $50.00. for the Lnog Branch Fall Fair, and also to J. C. Steckley $10 for Thistletown School Fair. Gardhouse and Tier that Mr. Geo.
