Dancing and other amusements ~supplemented by a short program â€" made the time pass pleasantly â€" and _ quickly. The guessing contest favors went to H. Stonehouse and Miss M. â€" Dixon. In keeping with the spirit of the week, last Friday evening the League members held a Hallowe‘en party, which was much enjoyed, and caused considerable fun as well as a general social intercourse among the friends gathered together. A masquerade in which the costumes presented a disâ€" play of genius on the part of the parâ€" ticipants was one of the special feaâ€" tures, and the Ghost Parade as a finâ€" ale to the program was another unâ€" iquesjnovation. A vocal duet by Misses Sadie and Mabel Farr, piano duet by Misses Gardhouse, vocal solo by Masâ€" ter Earle Farr, violin solo by Mr. Morley, of Weston, accompanied by Miss Irene Lee, also of Weston, and a monologue by Rev. Mr. Smart proâ€" vided an excellent program. Shortt, formerly of Humbervale, have bought a home in Westmount, and will live there for the winter. That Thistletown should have a candidate in The Charters Publishing Company‘s Big Circulation Campagn seems to be the universal opinion of all the people in this secton. But there seems difficulty in getting the right young lady or gentleman to enter the contest. A live and enthusiastic candidate for this neighborhood should have a splendid chance, as the people here will rally to the support of one of their own people against an outsider every time.
