An orchestra will be in attendance on the boat. Among the successful candidates at the recent Toronto University exâ€" aminations, the Weston citizens, as usual, made a good showing. In mediâ€" cine, Howard Charlton and Lee Bull took their 2nd year, 3rd year, Gordon Moffatt, 4th year, Cliff Bull and Fred Cruickshank. Lee Bull was also sucessâ€" ful in taking his finals in artâ€"and reâ€" ceived his degree of B. A. From time to time we hear of exâ€" ceptionally large eggs and occasionally we manage to get the measurements, but Mr. Tom Harris, of Rhode Island Red fame, has a particular hen who lays a double yoked egg each day, and has been in the habit of doing so for the past month and a half. Apparently it is a mark of appreciation on the part of the hen, for care and time expended. Mr. Norval Pollard returned home on Monday morning from the West. What might . have developed into fatal results was narrowly averted when Mr. George Dalton, who is emâ€" ployed on the construction gang of the Bell Telephone Co., was entombed in the trench now being dug on the Main St. Mr. Dalton was carrying on with his work and. was down to a depth of about three or four feet, when the loose earth gave way and about a ton of the hard road metal caved in on top of him, burying him completely. Many of the workmen rushed to the scene and in about three minutes had him safely on the surface: He was found to be exhausted and another few seconds would have meant death from. suffocation â€"whilst under the earth.
