The Father knows how to give good gifts unto His children; and it will give the Holy Spirit to them that ask Him. "Another Comâ€" forter." You try it this week. will vou? In your office. in your home. Yes, He knows all about you there. Wherever it isâ€"in the street, in the crowd,â€"He is One alongside to help. and you will find that He will not fail you. That word comes from Christ‘s own vocabulary; and He had a wonderful rich one; and although they were very simple words. they were always manifold words. The more you look at it, the more beautiful it becomes, and the more fragrant in its meaning. What did Jesus really say? "I shall pray the Father, and He shall give vou another alongside to help you." That is what he meant, and that is what He said. When He said "another Comforter," it was as if he said. "You shall have One just like Myself. and always alongside, and ever ready to help you according to your needs." I want to help yvou for the coming days to realise that the Holy Spirit is here, and is a real Person, and that He is as One alongside to help. [ But, "I will pray the Father, and IHe shall give you another Comforter." It is the Father‘s gift to us in answer 1to Christ‘s prayer. He is with us all, |anywhere and everywhere. The disâ€" !pensation of the Holy Spirit is to be preferred to that period when Christ lhimself in the flesh was on this earth. You believe in the Personality of the Holy Spirit? Oh, yes. Do you think you understand the Personâ€" ality of the Holy Spirit as fully as you might?" God the father. Yes, the very name "Father" gives us a rich ana tender idea of what God is to us as our Father. And God the Son. Someâ€" times we think we can hear Him talk to us in his tender, loving tones. But what about the Person of the Holy Spirit? The very term that is used to designate His Personality leads us sometimes into a sort of | mystic realm; it is hazy. The Holy Spirit. And yet, do you know, He is as real a person as was Jesus and as is the Father. And when we as believers can fully compréhend Him, and realâ€" ise His presence every day of our lives, we shall be richer men and woâ€" men. The Alongside Helper "I will pray the Father. and He shall give you another. comforter." Have you noticed that that is quite a new record? You never come across it again as the title of any perâ€" son. 7 Thev came to me and asked me for my advice. I talked to them and I said, "Well, look here, you write up to a certain firm in the City, and you will get all particulars." And they did. They received all sorts of pamâ€" phiets and circulars and handbills and picturesâ€"such a pile of them! They . went through all these dear ladies; just the same as when you choose a piece of paper for your walls; you go through the patternâ€"book fifty times ‘before you decide on one. So these ladies went all through these circulars; and then they came to see me again, and they said. "We think we would like to go to Geneva." «That. is all right," I said. "Write up to them, and tell them that you want to go to Geneva, and thev will send you all particulars, and tell you the price of the different tours." This they did, and after a time they _ I want to lay stress for a few minâ€" utes this morning upon those two words "another Comforter," There has been one before then? Yes, inâ€" deed, Jesus had proved Himself to be that, and no one knew it better than the disciples. He is about to leave them, so He says, "I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter." â€":Another Comforter as good as Myself and better. How can that be? you say. But he did not know any more about the way which he was to take than the host of people he had to guide. So he wisely said he would not go up hence unless God went with him.. And he was right. Moses was the leader of the hosts of Israel, and God showed Himself in the midst of that host in a fiery pillar, and He supplied their daily needs and nightly wants. And so it was always. Every day, every week, every month, and every year of those forty years, when the host moved, so the cloud or the fiery pillar moved also, and the people followed. When they had to halt it stood still, and they pitched their tents. And He led them for forty years through a trackless desert, till at last they came to their desired haven, the Land of Promise, according to what God had said. They went to Paris, and when they reached Geneva, and they saw all the wonderful sights, and when they reached home again they were full of their experiences. World‘s Oldest Man The world‘s oldest man, Zaro Agha, was killed in a motorâ€"car accident reâ€" cently at Constantinople. He had insisted on walking about unaided. The suggestion is supposed by the fact that last year 25,000 people were killed by automobiles in the United States, and nearly a million injured. We are confronted by similar conâ€" ditions in Canada. As it is the car that is not worth insuring, or the car owned by a man who cannot pay a Jjudgement which is the least freâ€" quently covered by indemnity insurâ€" ance, it is evident that some steps are necessary for the protection of the public. There could be no justice in freâ€" quently covered by indemnity insurers to contribute to such a compensation fund. If motorists are to be made contributories it might as well be by way of insurance Compulsory insurâ€" ance of motor vehicles must come. % 7 *..
