In my particular case, they have been good enough to supply me with both a radio and a typewriter without which the days would drag on endlessly. Every Tuesday night, come rain or shine, Mrs. Powell and her faith- ful assistants pay a visit to ever "x-servieeman here, bringing with them not only words of encourage- ment and friendship but also the more practical gifts of cigarettes, candy, and the many varied. items for daily use. They also supply materials and patterns for handi- crgft work, leather work and other hobbies that serve to lighten the many hogrs in bed.
