Hender Signs At Weston Church‘s 101st Anniversary Next Sunday evening, Nov. 21, a young singing star named Tommy Hender will be guest soloist at both services of the Weston Presâ€" byterian Church on the occasion of the 101st anniversary of the church. Mr. Hender has made a previous appearance at the church where he was justly praised. If there is a choice between an easy method and a’Ptough facingâ€" up to a situation, Tommy Hender chooses the harder way. When an airâ€"check is made of his voice, he seizes upon it and groans in anâ€" guishâ€""What a dull toneâ€"listen to me slurring all over the placeâ€" I was surely flat on that one." Tommy is immensely popular with the younger set, who realize that here is a young man who not only loves and understands music, but his restrained interpretations are so new and so right, with the accent on good taste.
