Although not in good health for the past few years, she did her duty to the last by going out to vote on Monday. Funeral service was held last Thursday from the funeral pariors of McDougall and Brown. Among the pallbearers were Mr. Alan Tayâ€" lor and several from the firm where her son is employed. Many Congratulations to Mr, and Mrs. Vickers, Byng Ave., on the birth of old friends saind neighbors attended the service, which was conducted by Rev. Kell of Thistletown United Church. Mr. Kell spoke of Mrs. McManus‘ loyalty to the church and to the minister, Rev. R. Currie Creelman of Weston Presbyterian Church assisted. The floral tribâ€" utes were many and very beautiful. Interment took place in the family plot in Prospect Cemetery. Surâ€" viving are two daughters, Miss Helen and Miss Stella, also one son, Lioyd McManus. 8 Last Wednesday morning Shirâ€" ley Wray passed away. In the sumâ€" mer Shirley was stricken with polio and everything that could possibly be done for her comfort was tried. The village remembers Shirley as a girl of joy and sunâ€" shine. When her mother and sisters were hurt last year, she just took over like a veteran. To her family and grandmother, Mrs. D. Love, we extend sincere sympathy, _ Mrs, John Cameron, of Smithâ€" field, has received from England a book of "England‘s Future Queen". This book was sent to Mrs. Camâ€" eron from Miss E. Sharpe, Notts. These two ladies have corresponded for a long time and enjoy the inâ€" terests of the Women‘s Institute. In the summer the Women‘s Thistleâ€" town _ Institute sent . to Miss Sharpe‘s branch the book on "Fifty Years of Achievement". Belated birthday greetings to Gail Hartman who gave a party for fourteen of her friends last week. The family of Mrs. F. Kingdon honored this lady with a birthday dinner party. Her many friends wish her many more years of hapâ€" piness. St. Andrew‘s Women‘s Guild held their December meeting in the Sunday School rooms of the church. The business consisted of the elecâ€" tion of officers for the coming year. Residents were pleased to reâ€" ceive a copy of the special issue of The Times and Guide this week and send grateful thanks. Next Sunday is Carol Sunday at St. Andrew‘s and we invite all residents to come out and enjoy this service. Sunday, Dec. 18th, parents are asked to see that the little ones bring a small white gift which will be sent to a Sunday School up north where presents are not as plentiâ€" ful.
