A very quiet but pretty wedâ€" ding took place in the Metropoliâ€" tan United Church, Toronto, on Saturday, March 31st, when Mr. Alexander (Alec) Shearman, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Shearman of Thistletown was joined in Holy Matrimony to Miss Lenore Katheâ€" leen Armstrong of Toronto. It was a double ring ceremony. The bride‘s sister Mrs. Kathleen Elliott was her attendant gowned in navy crepe with mauve accessories and a corsage of Talesman roses, Mr. John Elliott was groomsman. The bride looked very lovely in a 2â€"piece navy taffeta with white accessories an dwore white garâ€" denias. After a wedding trip spent in Buffalo the happy couple will reside in Weston. Rev. Lunch was served at 12.30 by the ladies of the church. Afternoon session started at 2 and after a very delightful talk by the guest speaker the meeting closed at 5.15. Dinner was served in the assembly hall. No meeting on Saturday morning gave the visitors a chance to do a little shopping. Back to the assembly and to a very lovely lunch, After lunch, four chartered buses arrived to take everyone on a tour of Ottawa and Hull. Mr. Chas., Doan spent a few days with Mr. and Mrs. Dick McManis last week when they celebrated their third wedding anâ€" niversary, Sympathy of the district goes to Mr. and Mrs. Snider of Graham Ave. in the death of a young nephew in Toronto this last week. Mr. Bob Jones of Toronto was guest for supper at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Matt Campbell and then went on to the operetta, "The King‘s Courtship," held last week in the Orange Hall, Woodbridge.
