Church of Saint David This is what the world needs today to unite the people. This is what is needed in our community Ind home life. A common de- nominator upon which we all can unit. Love in the home will bring that peace and contentment that is needed. Love in the community will bring hsppiness out of chaos. Progress in world and community life has been stimulated by the practice of this power' of love. Learn of this [test powerful force by study. Read your weekly Epistles. In the Gospel for the day there is the example of what the Epistle has been teaching. It is the old well-known story of the rich man and Lazarus. All have heard it but just stop and go over the text once more. Can you see how the practice of the Christian love has changed relationship in the world. Look at the work that is done now by the people in aid of those who are in less fortunate circum- stsnces. Note the work of the hospitals, the charities, the service clubs and the churches. All this has been accomplished because the church has shown the way in effecting the responsibility of all by the love of each other. Read these two lessons for the first Sunday after Trinity and you will be inspired to put into practice the doctrine of love. You will find the Epistle taken from let St. John 4: 7 and the Gospel from St. Luke 16: 19. It is a long Gray from the early simple exhibition of the 80's to the magnificent presentation of the trade fair. Those who were t'e- sponsible for the starting of the exhibition for the community back in the 80's certainly did not think that the day would come when there would be gathered under one roof or two the world exhibition for trade purposes. Little did they think that one of the finest melting pots for world unity would be centred in the confines of the extended grounds upon which they held their fairs. Yet it has been Bo. At the trade fair there is all the nations represented with their products. In well-arranged spacious buildings you can see the progress of the day. In well-displayed booths you can hear the story of progress and re- habilitation from those war devastated countries. Those who were enemies side by side presenting to the world their products. The last meeting of the Married Couples Club until the fall was held in the basement of the church. A good number turning out for the occasion of fun and trolie. Every- one had a good time. A good pro- gram had been arranged by its members. Bus Lee and his company with guitars furnished the musical fare, quips, comic quartettes, com- munity singing, etc. Refreshments served by the ladies. The meeting Foundation, munt be solid it the structure built is to hut. Thus on this {int Sunday liter Trinity the church has seen tit to preunt the foundation upon which must be built the Christian life. "God in Love," in I familiar quotation. lt in the basic starting point in all Christian teaching. It wu the power that sent His Son into the world to live humanity. It in the bond that welds the Christian life into perfect har- mony with God. It in the force-that brings factions into perfect re- lation-hip and worknble unite. Thus this great teacher of the power of love, St. John, present: in the Epistle for this Sunday the important factor in the life of all Christian. ‘- This whole picture is one that has a great stimulus behind it. Remember this is the result of five years of work by the Canadian trade offices. It is a most worthy presentation of the place that Cam ada has achieved in world trade. It gives an incentive to greater per- fection and production. It creates business. It is a development that every Canadian should be proud of and pay tribute to those who have fostered and built the Trade Fair. These are the factors that has given Canada her place in the world as one of the leading producers and traders. . Those responsible for the allocation and' gathering of the various exhibitors did a good job, The layout is one of the best that has been seen and the co-ordination of the various products does give a person the opportunity of comparison. Those who have travelled long dis- tances with their products find that their neighbors and competitors have something that is worthwhile. They get new ideas and find that the other fellow is not so bad. This brings about a unity of fellowship and an advance in production and product. Here you can see the world's advancement in all lines. If you did not visit the fair then you missed one of the finest displays held in this fair city.
