PRESBYTERIAL â€" EXECUTIVE Highlights| _ l Rather ought we to be like the penitent thief who, recogâ€" nising freely his guilt and his sin, and sweeping aside all preâ€" sumption and pride, asks humblyâ€"‘Lord, remember me‘ when Thou comest.! Penitence does not go hand in hand with the spirit which is n reality making a demand upon God for salvation. This word from the Cross shows us that penitence humbly seeks what the Lord can give. What He gives needs not to be demanded for it is offered freely to any weary and toilâ€"worh traveller who, freely admitting his guilt and unworthiness, and coming to God without any pretense or guile, turns to Him for help, who alone can give it. As He hangs upon the Cross, pouring out the final drops of His life‘s blood for the race He loved so much, He says to every | seeker after Lifeâ€" § There were two ‘malefacâ€" * \| tors‘ both of whom were unâ€" | doubtedly guilty and deserving P * % of death.
