Description of Work The Church of St. David, Lawâ€" rence ‘Avenue, near Jane Street, Weston, is very fortunate in having the Rev. Donald S. Gausâ€" by, B.A., of St. Barnabas church, Ardsley, N.Y., U.SA., as a reâ€" G. Calvert, B.A., D.D., Bishop of Calgary, Rev. G. Major, B.A. L.Th., rector of St. Cyprians of Lacombe, Alberta, assisted. Canon Fred Glover, M.A., D.Th,, rector of St. Margaret‘s church, Winnipeg, father of Rev. Paul Glover, was the principal speakâ€" er. Incidentally, Rev. Glover would welcome any letters from his friends in this parish as he remembers the great kindness shown to him while he was here, and says he has a very warm spot in his heart for the people of this area. ST. MATTHIAS ANGLICAN away for the wekends and holiâ€" During the two month holiday absence of Rev. George Young, the Rev. George Garrett, of St. David‘s, Weston, is conducting the Sunday services at this Scarâ€" lett Road church. Rev. Garrett is finishing his final year of study prior to ordination next year. Next Sunday, August 12th, Holy Communion, service will be held with the Rev. Thomas B. Butler, former rector for many years, as the celebrant; he will be assisted by Rev. Garrett. Sunday school will be reopened at the end of the present month with Mr. Everard Cathcart in charge. The tribute that was paid to him by those who came to the chapel at the Ward‘s Funeral Home spoke volumes for the life he had lived. The flowers that came from all leaders in public life, from organizations, and personal friends told the story of his associations. The presence of his former wardens, councillors and the Hon. George S. Henry expressed the high regard in which he was held. He was laid to rest amid the well merited sympaâ€" thetic expressions of those whom he had been so long associated with. They came to pay their last respects to Oone whom they looked up to and admired. Tom was a real friend whose life was simple but effective. He has passed, but his efforts were notâ€"in vain. Tom Grifith was never pushing himself to the front but alâ€" ways giving the credit to the other fellow. His great work was done in that quiet, calm presentation of facts that were convinâ€" cing. Thus Weston, with the passing of Mr. Tom Griffith, has lost & citizen who has made a contribution not only to the town, or the township, but to the whole York county. By SAM WILSON The tributes that were paid to the late Thomas Griffith were well deserved. His was a quiet, peaceful life in the midst of great changes in the whole community. His contribution to York Township as councillor and reeve was an able.leadership in a period of great difficulties. His work on the York County Council in the various offices and especially as warden was during the years that demanded careful planning and, consideration. His services given to the West York Conservative Association as an officer over the long years were most efficient. His work on the farm was of the best. His efforts to assist in the development of Weston when he retired and moved to town were most timely. the House at all times, unâ€" like the usual situation when committees meet at the same time as the House sits, In the second place, the Suâ€" perintendent _ of Insurance wished to have the 1955 figâ€" plicated subject and the evidâ€" ence on small loans has been During the long examination of witnesses the Bill bogged down.
