Reâ€" freshments were served at the The pad of King David‘s sanâ€" dalled feet echoed the beat of his weary heart. All the‘ fight had gone out of him. A soldier can steel himself against any blow from the enemy, but this was different. Absalom his beâ€" loved son had planned to take his kingdom and his life. As he journeyed away from Jerusalem there appeared on the road an old friend of the house of Saul, Shimei, who at once started to shout curses at the king. Quietly David walked on saying nothing. Finally the captain of David‘s army could stand it no longer. "Why let this dog curse my lord? Give me permission and I will take off his head!" David‘s anâ€" swer welled up from a deep ‘falth in God. "Let him alone. The Lord hath bidden him." If we ony had the faith of David! We saw God in every circumstance of his life whether heartbreak or insult. He trusted God to do only that which was best for him. Let us look up and trust as he did. That deep dark cloud that has burst in fury on your horizon is sent from God. Be patient under it and He will bless you in the midst of the storm. There is peace in the realization that the Lord hath bidden it.
