Did you know that some of our local Rangers joined a Rover Crew to sing Christmas carols in the grounds of a Sanitorium? All Rangers are expected to contriâ€" bute some voluntary communâ€" ity service, such as helping to open the local Girl Guide Camp, manning a new Veterans‘ Canâ€" teen, acting as Nurse‘s Aids at a Crippled Childrens‘ Hospital. Three of our delegates to the Montreal Trienneal Conference, Mrs. R. H. Johnson, Miss G. Miller and Mrs. P. McCusker recounted their experiences and impressions of the August tonâ€" ference in a well organized and interesting panel discussion. most of these opportunities for exciting adventure! R. E. Spenter, M.A., B.D. ‘ SUNDAY, OCTOBER ‘s, 1958 SUNDAY SCHOOLS James Darlington, Jr., was home this weekend from Guelph where he is attending college this year. Jane street was more busy than usual on Saturday as hunâ€" dreds of cars wended their way to the Dalziel Conservation Park for the annual Pioneer Festival. This year the festival was on a large scale with more interesting© exhibits and was very well attended in spite of the dull day and the sudden afâ€" ternnon shower. A group of Rangers of theâ€"Rexdale Area are preparing to attend the Ranger International Camp. There are three cattle from the herd of Alfred Bagg and Sons being shipped to Chicago this week to be shown at the annual show in that city. Saturday night was, we unâ€" derstand, the last ‘night of the stock car races at Pinecrest track for this season. Mr. Alfred Bagg was accomâ€" panied by Mr. Frank Teasdale on Saturday when they attendâ€" ed the Barrie Fair. Mr. Norman Bagg was at Walkerton this week, again judging at their fall fair. Don Mitchell had the high score at the Edgeleyâ€"Concord Bowling last Friday night with 301, 244, 253 for a total of 798. Many of the players who had had a particularly high score on the first two nights of bowling were surprised on Friday eveâ€" ning when they saw their handiâ€" caps for this year, based on those two nights of bowling, had been much reduced below last year‘s. Well folks, you have St. John‘s Anglican Church The Edgeley Women‘s Instiâ€" tute again sold apples pie with cheese, apple cider and rosy apâ€" ples. The booth was very popâ€" ular and the ladies sold out their wares at an early hour. Rev. Canon Arthur Smith of Christ Church Deer Park was the guest preacher at the eveâ€" ning service. He congratulated the congregation upon the decâ€" orations of the church, upon the singing and work of the choir and upon the great strides that are being made. His message was one of hope and trust in God and His care for his peoâ€" ple. He traced the history of God‘s relationships with manâ€" kind and His fulfilment of the promises made. i The rector, the Rev. Keith Kiddell preached at the mornâ€" ing services and had a message of inspiration and â€" practical thanksgiving that sent all home inspired. Work on the Parish Hall ad: dition is moving along fast now that the steel has arrived. Sunâ€" day crowds certainly showed the need to speed up the buildâ€" ing work. At present the organâ€" izations are cramped for space. When the new accommodation is ready there will be greater acâ€" tivity planned. Miss Ella Whitemore â€" AVenue 5â€"2356 EDGELEY DISTRICT Edgeley United Church was filled for both the morning and evening anniversary services on Sunday. Mrs. Alfred Bagg, Mrs. Frank Locke and Mrs. George Poole attended, the tea given by Mrs. Wilfred Sceott of Woodbridge for her daughter, Nancy, a brideâ€"toâ€"be. Miss Carolyn Meisner enterâ€" tained several of her friends to a theatre party at the Roxy afâ€" ternoon on the occasion of her birthday. Many happy returns, Carolyn. quite a reputation to live up to now while we who are poor bowlers strive to better our game and join your ranks. Mrs. James Ridout and Mrs. Zeigler of Stouffville, were afâ€" ternoon and dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Whitmore on Sunday. The corner of Keele and No. 7 highway is changing in apâ€" Miss Ella Whitmore visited with her cousin, Mrs. Marnell in Toronto Sunday afternoon. "Workâ€" ing with Woo!l" is the project and the leaders again are Mrs. James Darlington and Mrs. Bodâ€" ker. We are pleased to report that Mrs. Priest is feeling better again after beign confined to bed a few days. Miss Dianne Kosoliki is staying with Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm Ball while attending business school pearance as load after load of fill is being dumped to gradualâ€" ly raise the corner to the level of the â€"highway and wipe out the former valley. Much speculaâ€" tion is going on as to the final result and why. We understand that Mr. Charâ€" les Ash has sold the back fifty acres of his farm bordering Keele Street.
