_.Christmas jis the hflll of God‘s .love, for at that e the church .celebrates the ‘coming into the World of the omly beâ€" gotten Son of Godâ€"Jesus Christ our Lordâ€"to save and redeem Mankind. This fact with its tremendous implications was commemoratâ€" ed at St. Philip‘s Anglican Church with three celebrations of Holy Communion and a Famâ€" ily Service where the families of the Parish could join together in worship on so essentially a "family" day. During the regular services it is so easy to take the music of the church and those who proâ€" vide it, for granted. At a feast such as Christmas where the choir have added so immeasurâ€" ably to the atmosphere that perâ€" vaded St. Philip‘s Church it is easier to realize our indebtedâ€" ness to them. j On Sunday evening, Decemâ€" ber 21st, their offering of the cantata "Bethlehem" with all the hours of work it had entailâ€" ed© was greatly appreciated by all and in order that those who were unable to attend may bear it they have kindly consented to repeat it on Sunday evening, January 1l1th. ‘ Those enjoying the hospitality | and dinner at the home of Mr. |and Mrs. Eldon Fierheller on Christmas were Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Whitmore, parents of Mrs. Fierheller and Mrs. Harry Fierâ€" heller of Richmond Hill, mother of Mr. Fierheller, and Mrs. L. A. Whitmore and Ella. The Cantata is an Ephiphany storyâ€" in three parts. The first section takes place on a starâ€" light night on the plains around Bethlehem and tells of the apâ€" pearance of the angels to the shepherds. Part 2 deals with the three Kings and their gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh to the Christ Child, while the final part takes place in the stable at Bethlehem where Mary sings to the Babe. It goes on to tell what can be our gift. E. Cuthbert Nunn who wrote the words of the Cantata sums this up thus:â€" No lordly gift am I able to make, _ I can but ask Thee my poor self to take, For Thee the world and its ways I‘ll forsake." Mr. Percy Snider enjoyed Christmas dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Archibald of Maple.
