GUIDE _ NEWS The Annual District Mother & Daughter banquet was held at the Woodbridge Legion on Wedâ€" nesday, June 13th, 1962 Alâ€" together five Brownie Packs and two Guide Companies from the Thistletown Area were represenâ€" Head Table guests were Mrs. Hobman, President of the Auxiliâ€" ary her committee, Divisional Commissioner Mrs. Sadler, Dis trict Commissioner Mrs. Fancett, Mrs. Doyle the Badge Secretary and the mistress of ceremonies for the evening Carol Robertson and her mother. The ceremony which followed the banquet included the presenâ€" tation of a Pack Certificate for Handicraft to the 492nd. Pack by Mrs. Sadler. From the ranks of the Brown:â€" ies Susan Richardson and Elâ€" eanor Ervin walked up to Guides, the following all flew up: Lynda Hurdis, Janet Johnston, Joanne Fleming, Katy Friedlander. Kathryn Hackey, Vicky Horne, Gail Curtis, Beverley Bradstock, Deborah Doyle, Cathy Reeder, Chrissy Silman, Dianne Hobman, Jennifer Haddow, Kathy Culbert, Judith McCallum, Anne McDowâ€" all and Mary Quail. Susan Foster was enrolled as a Guide, Mary Bartlett received her second class badge and Carol Robertson was presented with her Needlewoman‘s Badge. This annual event is recomâ€" mended to all mothers with girls in Guides or Brownies, as the added interest of the parents gives the girls a stimulus to achieve greater results. It is hoped that in the Fall anâ€" other Guide Company can be started. The need arises however, for leaders, and any ladies who would like to participate in this rewarding work should contact Mrs. Fancett, Phone 741â€"3003. The Thistletown Ratepayers Association will hold a Cenâ€" eral Meeting on Wednesday, June 27th, when the election of officers for the 1962â€"63 executive will be held. Officials of the Thistletown Hall Board will be on hand to outline the future of the Hall. NEWS FROM OUR CHURCHES ALBION _ GARDENS PRESBYTERIAN The Guest Speaker at the morning service on Sunday last was Mr. Robert Cale, a Chemical Engineer and Graduate of the University of Toronto, who gave a very interesting and enlightenâ€" ing talk on the work of the Gidâ€" eon Society. The Choir ended the season‘s activities with a Bowling party at the Albion Bowl last Thursday, and a most enjoyable evening was had by all. The party then adjourned to the Church Audiâ€" torium where a supper of Chiâ€" nese Food was served. Mrs. Willis, the Senior member of the choir who is now retiring, was guest of honour, and was presented with a card autographâ€" ed by her fellow members.
