Murray Antram was big gun for W.C. V.S., figuring in four of the goals, including two assists. Up to a few weeks ago no one even knew Murray was on the ice unless he made a mistake, but lately he has been scoring on a â€" level with Mighty Murray Death, Weston‘s senior junior. Mr. Death picked up three points with two goals and an assist. John Panko‘s screened shot found the six by four target to round out Weston‘s scorers. Weston Seniors are now closing in on the T. D. I. A. A. lead and have a mathematical chance at top spot with two games left to play. The team has improved beâ€" yond all my earlier hopes and Collegiate Sports As was earlier stated, Weston held a 5â€"2 lead with the end in sight. To say that Runnymede pulled a Wisconsin come â€" back would be no exaggeration. Both hockey teams continued to play with their heads up, a double win against Runnymede was the result. _ * Th Senior game was a real rip â€" snorter, and Runnymede had scored two unanswered goals beâ€" fore the home squad had got unâ€" tracked. And then . .. .. along came the goals, and in the closâ€" ing minutes of the last period Weston held a comfortable 5 â€" 2 lead. The Juniors edged their opponâ€" ents from Runnymede 2â€"1 in a bard â€" fought contest. Fred Stephâ€" ens played a stand â€" out game, baffling would â€" be checkers with his crafty stickhandling and deâ€" ceptive agility. Fred came up with a two point effort this game scoring the first goal, and assisâ€" ting on the second. Paul Roberts, another ace in Coach Ferguson‘s hand, set up the first goal from a prone position at the side of the Runnymede net. Captain Jim Bannatyne won the game for Weston in the third period. There was good news to be heard from our Sunday School Department as well. Mr. A. Jackson, who sugeeded Mr. L. R. Salisbury as SGeneral Supâ€" erintendent, reported that we now have upwards of 58 teachers on the staff. As one old pupil of Maple Leaf school remarked after the skit ‘"our parents did not have the asâ€" sociation to keep them informed on school matters, when they were raising their family", He went on to tell how the parents of the district are kept in close touch with school matters, by haying the chance to hear such interesting speakers as had been at the previous meetings. The skit was designed to show how rewarding it can be to work so close to the school, with all its problems (and there are proâ€" blems sometimes) as they relate to the matters of education. Like many other problems in home life, as the skit showed, the Home and School Association is the one and only link between the two units. It is through such units in a district the parents are kept informed on educational matters. BROTHERKHOOD Mrs. Monture told her hearess of the many problems faced by the Jews, of the various nationâ€" Last reports showed" many of the membership visited the offiâ€" cers, in an interested way offerâ€" ing their names. .
