On The Social Scene Among the 500 women attending the second Keswick Conference for United Church women at Ferndale last weekend were several from Etobicoke; among them, Mrs. W. M. Geoffrey Tomkinson, supervisor of Art for Etobicoke schools. Mr. and Mrs. Tomkinson will spend the year in and around London, while their son attends an English boarding school. Mr. Tomkinson did several art programs for META (Metro Educational Television Assn.) last year which were highly successful. The Tomkinsons‘ home is on LaRush Ave. The official board of Huimber Valley United Church and Rev. und Mrs. Arthur Steed held Open House yesterday afternoon and evening at the manse on Wimbleton Road. The first class of 32 York Memorial Collegiate students moved into the school on Monday to stay a week, and study first hand, forestry, agriculture, fish and wildlife. The school which accommodates about 40 is the first of its kind in Ontario for secondary school students. Classes will be drawn from all high schools in the authority watershed.
