An article appeared in last week‘s issue as to a horse found late at night tied to a post on Main Street. Results from this notice disclosed the fact that the horse was the property of Mr. Geary, who had driven in to town and tied his horse in the Methodist Church shed, while he attended to some business. Onâ€" his return he found horse and rig gone. In all proâ€" bability the boys had taken it out in a spirit of mischief. One of the fellows is operating the gramoâ€" phone, while the rest are interested in the mail, which has just arrived. I have neglected. my correspondence again, not having written | a letter since I was on leave. x I have been acting Flightâ€"Comâ€" mander for three weeks and would have been captain if this war had lastâ€" ed for a week longer. I have been in two seraps since coming back and got two more Huns to my credit, making a total of eight confirmed as destroyâ€" ed. The last one was just two days before the Armistice and. was the hardest serap I_ have ever béeen through.. We fought for cight minâ€" utes and when I had fired about 600 rounds he crashed into a tree about a mile: behind the lines. A couple of days later the Huns moved back so C.O. and I went up to see if we could find a machine. We found him still in his machine sitting up in a tree, so we got a working party and let the machine down. He had eighteen vicâ€" tories to his credit and had the irom cross, first class, and a couple of other medals, so he must have been one of their crack men. He had a bullet through his heart and one. through his leg. I have got his watch and the compass off his machine for souvenâ€" irs. We are moving in a day or so, and it may be some time before we get back to England. However the war is over, and everybody out here is in good humor. There were some great celebrations the night before the Armistice. I will probably be staying in the Canadian Air Force for a year or so after the war. I will have to close now as I have some more letâ€" ters to write, but will write again in a few days. You may put D.F.C. afâ€" ter my name, as I have been awarded the Distinguished Elying Cross. But he was anxâ€" ious to get back_at the Huns, so he decided to stay in the Royal Air Force and go back to the arena of war..
