S. [ Referred to in the foregoing Byâ€"law showing how the amount of $1300 thereby required to be raised annually by special rate is apportioned. 8. The clerk of the council of the said Town of Durham shall attend at his office in the Town of Durham, at 10 :o‘clock in the forencoon of Wednesday the 3rd day of July, to sum up the number of votes tor and against this Byâ€"law. Dated at the Council Chambers in the Towna of Durham on the day of A. D. 1901. Cliff Elvidge at Norman Kelsey‘s house, William Vollet at the Town Hall and John Smith at Pasco Saunders‘ Shop. 7. On Monday the 1st day of July the Mayor of the said Town of Durâ€" ham shall attend at the council chamber at 10 o‘clock in the forenoon to appoint persons to attend at the various polling places aforesaid and at the final summing up of the votes by the clerk on behalf of the persons interested in and promoting. or oppoasing the passing ot this Byâ€"law respettively. 4. During the currency of the said Debentures, there, shall be raised annually by special rate on all rateable property the sum of $130.18 for the purâ€" pose of paying the amount due in each of the said years, for principal and interâ€" est in respect of the said debentures (as shown in Schedule ‘A‘ hereto annexed.) 5. This Byâ€"law shall take effect on the 8rd day of July A. D. 1901. 6. The votes of the electors of the said Town of Durham, shall be taken on this Byâ€"law at the following times, that is to say, on Tuesday the 2nd day of July next commencing at the hour of nine o‘clock A. M. and continuing till five o‘clock P. M. of the same day by the following Deputy returning officers and at the following places. 3. The said Debentures shall bear interest at the rate of 4 per centum per annum payable yearly at the said banh on tne 3rd day of July in each and every year during the currency thereof, and shall have attached to them, coupons for payment of the said interest which coupons shall be signed by the Mayor and Treasurer of the said Town of Durham., 1. Tke Municipal Council cfthe Town of Durham shall expend the sum of $1300 in the purchase of a site for the buildings of The National Portland Cement Company (Limited) and for the purpose of raising the said sum, Debentures of the said Town to the amount of $1800 as aforesaid, in sums of not less than $100 each, shall be issued on the 8rd day of July A. D. 1901, each of which Debentures shall be dated on the date of the issue thereof, and shall be payable within 13 years thereafter (namely : on the 3rd day of July in each of the years consecutively following the year 1901) at the Standard Bank of Canada, in the said Town of Durham. 2. Each of the said Debentures shall be signed by the Mayor of the said Town of Durkam and by the Treasurer ofthe said Town of Durham and the clerk shall attach thereto the corporate seal of the said corporation. AND WHEREAS the whole amount of the rateable property of the said corporation according to the last revised assessment roll is the sum of $340,566. AND WHEREAS it is lesirable to issue the said Debentures at one time and to make the principal of the said Debentures repayable by yearly sums during the period of 13 vears being the currency of the said Debentures, said yearly sums being of such respective amounts that the aggregate amount payable in each year for principal and interest in respect of said debt, shall be as nearly as possible equal to the amount payatle in each of the ether 12 years, of said period /as shown in Schedule ‘A‘ hereto annexed. AND WHEREAS the amount of the existing debenture debt of said corporâ€" ation is $34,085 and no part of the principal and interest is in arrear. Therefore the Municipal Council of the Corporation of the Town of Durham enacts as follows : AND WHEREAS such site has been purchased, and it is necessary and expedient to raise the sum cf $1300 on the credit of the said corporation, to pay the corporation‘s share of the purchase money thereof, the said sum to be repayable with interest at the rate of four per cent per annum, in 18 annual instalments.
