Mr James Dourthy has been a bare taced gent for the past few weeks, Misses A. McMillan and Phoebe Mcâ€" Donald have gone to Ceylon to remain awhile, while Miss Jessie A. MclInnis has gone to your town to reside tor a time. They are all certainly much Miss Annic McVicar and Katie Black, were seen and heard away up on a spring seat with a coachman with red hair last Saturday evening in and around our little burg. Mr Arch McLellan is in the employ of Mr Farrelly at the building of Pomona bridge. Miss Alla Patterson had company on Sunday that will be welcomed again. Mr John Beaton from Durham, visitâ€" ed friends at the Centre on Sabbath last. We join in sympathy with the friends of Miss Tena McGillivary who died in Brandon, Man., on the 18th inst at the j age of 24 years. Her remains were ; buried in the Priceville cemetery on Friday last Mr Henry Beaton has again returnâ€" ed to Pomona. Henry has some attraction, as we heard some one say he is getting to look like a Harrow. The new Pomona bridge is now under construction. _ Mr Farrelly and son Jim from Ayton are the contractors. They are a whole gang of husky tellows. Mrs McCabe in company with her little girl, from â€"Waterdown, near Hamilton, visited her daughter Miss McCabe, teacher, at Pomona, for a few days this and last week. Lots of rain and high winds at presâ€" ant, and winter is supposed to be fast approaching. Warden Murchison was seen in this burg on Sabbath 26th inst. in good company. We haye about one month thrashâ€" ing in the vicinity yet as farmers find it hard to get a thrashing outfit this vyear on account of the abundant ctops however, thrasher John J Black and staff are in our midst this week and will knock things endways for a while.
